Punjab citizens can now register life events via Pak-ID app

NADRA's Pak-ID app to issue UC's life event certificates in Punjab

LAHORE – Citizens in Punjab can now register important life events and obtain official certificates directly through NADRA’s Pak-ID mobile app, according to officials. The move aims to make government services more accessible and reduce the need for in-person visits to offices.

The initiative was formalized through an agreement between the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Department of Local Government Punjab. Secretary Local Government Punjab, Mian Shakeel Ahmed, and NADRA Lahore DG, Fizza Shahid, signed the pact, enabling residents to complete registrations at their respective Union Councils and receive certificates electronically.

Separately, NADRA has announced revised operating hours for its centres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the winter season of 2025. The regional head office and zonal offices, which operate five days a week, will remain open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Single-shift registration centres will operate from 9am to 5pm.

Punjab citizens can now register births, marriages, divorces, and deaths digitally via the PakID app. Pilot launched in Jhelum, Chakwal & Nankana, with expansion across the province soon.

NADRA also reminded parents to update their children’s B-Forms to avoid issues during school admissions. A B-Form issued for a child under three expires once they reach the age of three, requiring a new photo B-Form for official records. Parents can apply either by visiting NADRA offices or through the Pak-ID mobile app from the comfort of their homes.

The mobile app provides a convenient solution for citizens, allowing them to access official documents without visiting offices. This digital initiative is expected to streamline bureaucratic processes, reduce delays, and improve overall service delivery across Punjab.

Officials have emphasized that these measures reflect the government’s commitment to integrating technology into public services and making essential civil registration processes more citizen-friendly.
