Alhamra Sufi Festival 2025 to showcase music, theatre and dance

Alhamra Sufi Festival promises mesmerising renditions on 28th

LAHORE – The Lahore Arts Council has announced the schedule for the much-awaited Alhamra Sufi Festival 2025, which will run from November 28 to 30. The three-day event promises a vibrant celebration of Sufi music, theatre, and devotional dance.

The festival will kick off with the stage play Maqsood-e-Kul Mein Hoon by the Versatile Group. Inspired by the mystical philosophy of Allama Iqbal, the play explores themes of self-realization and the search for spiritual truth, setting the tone for a spiritually enriching festival.

On the second day, the Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts will present Raqs-e-Darvish accompanied by Sufi music. The evening will feature a special Sufi Night, headlined by folk singer Tahseen Sakina, while Yousaf Punjabi will mesmerize audiences with his Sufi dance performances.

The final day will see performances by Riaz Ali Qadri and Ghulam Ali Qadri, followed by devotional dances by the Versatile Group. The festival will conclude on a high note with a grand qawwali by the renowned Sher Miandad, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees.

Alhamra Executive Director Mahboob Alam highlighted the festival’s cultural significance, stating, “Each segment of this festival has been crafted with intention and respect for our spiritual heritage. Alhamra continues to stand as a home for art that uplifts the mind, awakens the heart, and strengthens our collective identity.”
