QAU Missing Student Protest Grows

QAU Missing Student Protest Grows

The QAU missing student protest entered its third day in Islamabad on Wednesday. Students held a sit-in demanding the recovery of Saeedullah Baloch. The protest stopped all academic activity at the university. The Baloch Students Council set up a protest camp on campus. They also invited other student groups to join their demand.

The administration suspended classes because it feared the protest could expand. Students at the camp refused to share their names with reporters due to safety concerns. They said they stayed firm for three days. They added they would not stay silent when justice was denied. Their stance strengthened as more students joined.

Saeedullah’s brother, Mohammad Azam, said the protest camp symbolized unity and strength. He stated that their message became louder each hour. He added they refused to accept fear or enforced disappearances. He stressed they would stay until authorities heard them. Meanwhile, the university did not issue any official response.

A senior QAU official said they contacted the BSC for dialogue. However, the group refused because they believed the university could not help. Speakers said unknown men in civil clothes took Saeedullah on July 8. They claimed law enforcement officials were also present at the scene. They added that his friend was allowed to continue, but Saeedullah was taken away.

Officials reported 125 missing persons cases in early 2025. The total reached 10,592 by June. The Supreme Court earlier said only parliament could solve enforced disappearances. Students demanded accountability and the safe return of Saeedullah. The QAU missing student protest continued to push this national issue forward.
