Shortly after, a second blast struck the same vicinity, this time targeting a CTD vehicle that was heading to the scene of the first explosion. Authorities said the improvised explosive device (IED) was attached to a motorcycle and detonated remotely, but all CTD officials escaped unharmed.
The incidents come amid a worsening security situation in Balochistan, with terrorist groups, particularly the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), reportedly adopting new tactics to inflict higher casualties and directly target security forces. Officials have warned of increasing threats to personnel and public areas.

Yesterday, three separate explosions were reported across Balochistan. One person was injured in a blast in Mach Town of Kachhi district, while two other explosions took place at Major Chowk in Mastung, followed by a gunfight between armed men and security forces.
Earlier this week, the Jaffar Express narrowly escaped an armed attack while passing through Bolan Pass in Kachhi district. This marked the sixth attack on the train in the past one and a half months. On September 30, a bomb blast near Quetta’s Frontier Corps headquarters killed at least 10 people, including four personnel, and injured 33 others, highlighting the persistent threat in the region.
