Egyptian FM visits Islamabad to strengthen ties

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty arrived in Islamabad on Saturday for a two-day official visit, invited by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The visit underscores the historic and strong ties between Pakistan and Egypt.

Senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs received Dr. Abdelatty, marking the beginning of discussions aimed at enhancing strategic cooperation. The visit highlights shared faith, cultural links, and aligned perspectives on regional and international matters.

During his stay, Dr. Abdelatty will hold bilateral and delegation-level talks with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Discussions are set to cover political, economic, security, and cultural cooperation, further advancing the longstanding partnership between the two nations.

Both sides are expected to exchange views on pressing regional issues, with a particular focus on the situation in Gaza. Pakistan and Egypt maintain a shared stance on humanitarian concerns and regional stability, aiming to coordinate responses to ongoing challenges.

The Foreign Office emphasized that the engagement demonstrates a mutual commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership. Officials hope that the visit will expand cooperation in multiple sectors, including trade, security, and cultural exchanges.
