Blazing brilliance: Abhishek Sharma hits 12-ball fifty, 32-ball century

India’s aggressive opener Abhishek Sharma stunned fans with a blazing innings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He scored fifty in just 12 balls and a century in 32 balls, dominating Bengal’s bowlers. His record-breaking performance powered Punjab to a massive total.

Sharma represented Punjab on Sunday and continued his attacking form against Bengal. He completed his 12-ball fifty, marking the joint second-fastest in Indian T20 cricket history. The left-handed batter kept up the assault, reaching his eighth T20 century in just 32 deliveries, tied for the sixth-fastest century ever in T20 cricket.

In total, Sharma scored 148 runs off 52 balls, hitting 16 sixes and 8 fours. His explosive innings helped Punjab post 310 for 5 in 20 overs, the second-highest score in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy history.

Bengal struggled to chase the mammoth target, managing only 198 for 9 in their 20 overs. Sharma’s performance not only broke records but also highlighted his potential as one of India’s rising T20 stars.

The innings further cements Sharma’s reputation as a dynamic, fearless batter capable of turning matches single-handedly. Fans and cricket analysts hailed his performance as one of the most dominant in recent domestic cricket.
