
ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has requested the final design for a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Islamabad within 10 days. Naqvi chaired a meeting at CDA headquarters to review progress on multiple public welfare projects.
Officials briefed that the new cricket stadium will be built in the capital, and the Interior Minister demanded the final design within 10 days. The stadium is expected to meet international standards and enhance Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure.
In addition, the meeting approved the allocation of land for a National Park, expansion of the Safe City project in Islamabad, and construction of a “smart underpass” at Kashmir Chowk to improve traffic flow.
Other decisions included using professional firms for a five-star hotel project, forming a special team for solid waste management, and allocating land for headquarters of law enforcement agencies. Naqvi also requested final designs for the smart underpass and details of long-vacant commercial plots in the city.

The Interior Minister emphasized that operations against illegal encroachments in the capital will continue with full force, and reclaimed land will be used for public benefit. Proposals for a new convention center and land allocation for Federal Constabulary, Rangers, and Islamabad Traffic Police headquarters were also discussed.
