FM Dar arrives in China for strategic talks

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing on Saturday. He will co-chair the 7th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Wang Yi on Sunday. The visit also marks the start of Pakistan-China diplomatic celebrations for 2026.

At the airport, Dar was received by China’s Special Representative on Afghanistan, Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, and embassy officials. He is the first foreign dignitary to visit China in 2026.

The strategic dialogue is the highest consultative platform between the two countries. It allows leaders to review bilateral cooperation and discuss regional and international developments. Both sides will also announce initiatives for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The visit underscores Pakistan and China’s commitment to deepening their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.” Leaders aim to expand cooperation while promoting regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The dialogue will include discussions on economic collaboration, regional security, and joint commemorative activities. High-level exchanges like this highlight the importance of the Pakistan-China partnership in 2026 and beyond.
