In separate statements, President Zardari highlighted the dedication of law enforcement agencies and the military in safeguarding citizens’ lives and property. He described their role as “commendable” and emphasized the nation’s reliance on professional security forces to counter threats.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed the sentiment, noting that the armed forces and police work tirelessly day and night to combat anti-state elements. He asserted that the enemy cannot threaten Pakistan in the presence of “brave and resolute officers and soldiers” and reaffirmed that the nation stands united behind its security personnel in defending the homeland.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) provided details of the operations, stating that the Fitna Al Khwari terrorist group was targeted on January 8, 2026. In North Waziristan, an intelligence-based operation led to an exchange of fire in which six terrorists were killed. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site.

A separate joint operation by police and security forces in Kurram district resulted in five militants being neutralised. These terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple attacks, including targeting law enforcement and innocent civilians.
