The Lahore Arts Council Alhamra, in collaboration with the Department of Film & Broadcasting, University of the Punjab, is set to organize a two-day film festival titled “Dekho Film” on January 14 and 15 at Alhamra.

The festival aims to highlight cinema as a powerful medium of expression and meaningful storytelling in the contemporary world.

While sharing his views, Executive Director of the Lahore Arts Council, Alhamra, Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, stated that film is an effective and influential medium that delivers its message to audiences with remarkable impact. He emphasised that in today’s era, cinema is not merely a source of entertainment but has evolved into a vital platform for social, intellectual and cultural expression.

These initiatives are designed to provide young filmmakers, students, and cinema enthusiasts with valuable learning opportunities, constructive dialogue, and exposure to professional insights.

According to the Executive Director, a diverse selection of meaningful films has been curated for the festival, with a focus on social, cultural and intellectual themes. These films will not only engage audiences but will also encourage deeper reflection and open new dimensions of thought.

He added that the Lahore Arts Council Alhamra is utilizing all its resources and energies to ensure the success of the film festival, with preparations underway at full pace.
