Seven killed in Chagai road accident

QUETTA: At least seven people, including five women, were killed and four others seriously injured in a road accident near Yakmach in Chagai district on Tuesday. The accident occurred on the Quetta-Taftan National Highway.

According to officials, two vehicles collided near Yakmach town, resulting in the tragic deaths and leaving four others critically injured. The exact circumstances of the crash are under investigation, though preliminary reports suggest that speeding may have been a factor.

Police and rescue teams were promptly dispatched to the scene following the incident. The deceased and injured were initially shifted to Yakmach before being transported to Prince Fahd Hospital in Dalbandin, where the critically injured are receiving medical care.

Authorities have urged drivers to observe traffic regulations, particularly on highways, to prevent similar accidents. Local residents described the accident as devastating, noting that the victims included several women traveling with their families.

The district administration has expressed condolences to the families of those killed and assured the public that measures would be taken to enhance road safety in the area.
