Gillespie takes charge of Hyderabad PSL team

Published on: January 28, 2026 11:00 PM

Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie has been appointed head coach of the Hyderabad franchise ahead of PSL 11. The announcement comes as the league expands to eight teams. Hyderabad, along with Sialkot, joins the PSL for the first time this season starting March 26.

Gillespie, 50, previously served in Pakistan’s national coaching setup, including as head coach of the Test team in 2024. He resigned later that year before Pakistan’s South Africa series amid management conflicts. His experience with Pakistan cricket is expected to strengthen Hyderabad’s squad.
