IMCTC Chief meets Army Chief at GHQ - Islamabad Post

RAWALPINDI — Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters (GHQ) here on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, with a focus on regional security dynamics and enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. They reaffirmed their commitment to combatting terrorism and extremism through collaborative strategies, intelligence sharing, and capacity building among member states.

Field Marshal Munir appreciated IMCTC’s role in promoting stability and coordinated counter-terrorism initiatives across the Islamic world. He also highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing contributions and sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism.

Major General Al-Moghedi, in turn, commended the professionalism and dedication of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, acknowledging the country’s significant role in regional security.

The meeting underscored the resolve of both sides to strengthen institutional collaboration for peace, stability, and security in the region.

The IMCTC delegation is visiting Pakistan from February 2 to 6, 2026, to conduct a week-long training program at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) focused on the “Re-integration and rehabilitation of extremist elements,” ISPR added.
