Officials said the crash began when the car first collided with a bicyclist before continuing down the road and striking the grocery store. Several people were trapped under the vehicle initially, according to LAFD spokesperson Lyndsey Lantz.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with detectives currently exploring whether it was due to a mechanical failure or a medical emergency. The driver, described as an elderly woman, is cooperating with authorities and is undergoing a medical examination.
Of the six injured, four were transported to the hospital, including two 35-year-old men in critical condition. Both the bicyclist and the driver declined medical treatment at the scene.
