Hajj Pilgrims Must Complete Biometric Verification via Saudi App by Feb 8 – Startup Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: All relevant bank branches in Pakistan have been directed to assist Hajj pilgrims in completing the Saudi visa biometrics process, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced on Tuesday. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Secretary of Religious Affairs Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chohan, which reviewed ongoing Hajj operations and preparations.

To facilitate pilgrims, the ministry will use the Pak Hajj App to raise awareness about the importance of completing Saudi visa biometrics. Stakeholders were instructed to ensure effective communication and support so that all pilgrims can complete the process smoothly.

A ministry spokesperson said Tashir Centers, which handle visa-related services, will now operate from 9 am to 5 pm, offering biometric assistance. Additionally, biometric support desks will be set up in various directorates to make the process more accessible for pilgrims across the country.

Dr. Chohan emphasised that the deadline for completing the Saudi visa biometrics is February 17, and no extensions will be granted. He urged all remaining pilgrims to complete their biometric process as soon as possible, stressing that a Hajj visa cannot be issued without the successful completion of biometrics.

The ministry’s proactive measures aim to ensure that all registered Hajj pilgrims meet the requirements for their upcoming pilgrimage without last-minute complications. Pilgrims are advised to take advantage of extended Tashir Center hours and additional assistance desks to complete the necessary procedures on time.

By streamlining the biometric process and involving banks and local directorates, authorities hope to avoid delays and ensure a smooth visa issuance process for Pakistanis travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
