Shehbaz Moscow visit to host media forum

Published on: February 21, 2026 9:02 PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Moscow from March 3 to 5, 2026. The visit will feature the “Media Forum Moscow–Islamabad” to strengthen Pakistan-Russia ties. The forum matters as it brings diplomats, scholars and journalists together to shape future cooperation.

The high-level forum will convene during Sharif’s official engagements in Moscow. Organizers aim to promote dialogue on trade, defense, energy and strategic coordination. Moreover, participants will examine evolving global alignments and regional geopolitical shifts. Observers say the initiative reflects growing trust between Islamabad and Moscow.

Notably, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova will attend the Moscow session. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi will also participate. Additionally, researchers from the Russian Academy of Sciences and senior media executives will join discussions. Their presence signals broad institutional interest in deeper bilateral engagement.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad session will include Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and Russia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev. Representatives from academia and media organizations are also expected. Discussions will focus on parliamentary exchanges, defense collaboration and economic partnerships. Experts believe structured media dialogue can strengthen strategic understanding.
