LAHORE – Tragedy struck Bagh-e-Jinnah on Tuesday as two juvenile female deer were killed following a sudden attack by a male deer inside one of the park’s enclosures.

Park authorities said the male deer unexpectedly became aggressive, targeting the young females and leaving them severely injured. The attack shocked staff and prompted immediate intervention to separate the animals.

The injured deer were provided emergency medical treatment, but despite first aid and veterinary efforts, both succumbed to their injuries. Officials expressed deep concern over the unusual behavior of the male deer.

As a precaution, park management has now separated the remaining deer from the aggressive male to prevent any further incidents. Staff are closely monitoring the enclosure for unusual behavior.

Project Director Jalil Ahmed stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is released. Authorities are investigating whether stress or health issues may have triggered the aggression.

Officials urged visitors to remain cautious while in the park and assured that safety measures for both animals and humans will be strengthened to avoid future incidents.
