Dar slams Gaza violence, urges unified muslim action

Published on: February 27, 2026 1:49 PM

Pakistan strongly condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza and declared that genocide and repeated ceasefire violations cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. Speaking at a high-level meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar voiced deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis. He stressed that the situation demands immediate global attention and collective action from Muslim nations. His remarks reflected Pakistan’s firm diplomatic stance on the Palestinian issue.

Addressing representatives of member states, Dar stated that Arab and Islamic countries have raised serious alarm over continued breaches of the Gaza truce. He emphasized that Pakistan unequivocally condemns these violations and described the conditions in Gaza as unbearable for civilians. Furthermore, he said Israel’s actions and expansionist policies cannot be justified or accepted by the Muslim world. His speech underscored the urgency of restoring calm and preventing further bloodshed in the region.

Moreover, Dar highlighted the vital role of the OIC in promoting peace, development, and cooperation among Muslim countries during times of crisis. He pointed out that Israeli aggression and the expansion of illegal settlements in Palestinian territories remain major sources of instability. According to him, these actions not only undermine regional peace but also erode prospects for a lasting political solution. He urged member states to strengthen diplomatic coordination and adopt a unified strategy.

In addition, the deputy prime minister called for immediate and practical steps to ensure a complete cessation of hostilities in Gaza. He stressed the urgent need to accelerate humanitarian assistance and launch comprehensive reconstruction efforts for the war-affected population. Dar noted that Pakistan remains in close contact with brotherly countries to support initiatives aimed at achieving a sustainable ceasefire. He emphasized that collective diplomatic pressure can help de-escalate tensions effectively.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding position, Dar reiterated support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on internationally recognized parameters. He said the prime minister has consistently upheld this principled stance at global forums and will continue advocating for Palestinian rights. He concluded by urging the Muslim Ummah to stand united in pursuit of justice, peace, and stability in the Middle East. His address reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to diplomatic engagement and solidarity with Palestine.
