Fahad Mustafa drops release date for Pakistan's first zombie thriller ' Zombeid'

Pakistani actor Fahad Mustafa is set to return to the big screen this Eidul Azha with a new horror venture titled Zombeid, marking a bold genre shift for mainstream Pakistani cinema. The film also reunites him with actress Mehwish Hayat after their earlier collaboration in Load Wedding.

The upcoming project is directed by Nabeel Qureshi, who once again joins hands with producer Fizza Ali Meerza. The creative team has previously delivered successful films such as Na Maloom Afraad and Actor in Law, making Zombeid their fourth major collaboration involving the lead actors.

The first poster of the film has already been released, generating significant buzz on social media. The visual features a dark horror theme, showing everyday objects such as headphones, a mobile phone, a handkerchief, a dumbbell, and a syringe, all splattered with blood, with the film title prominently displayed. The imagery suggests a zombie apocalypse-inspired storyline, a relatively unexplored genre in Pakistani cinema.

Fans have reacted with excitement to the announcement, praising Fahad Mustafa’s continued presence in commercial cinema and expressing curiosity about the industry’s move into horror storytelling. Many users have called the project one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

The film also marks another milestone in the on-screen pairing of Mustafa and Hayat, whose chemistry has been appreciated in previous hits. Their reunion is expected to be a major draw for audiences during the Eidul Azha release window.
