US Iran talks may resume in Pakistan

Published on: April 18, 2026 5:03 PM

The second round of US-Iran talks may take place in Pakistan on Monday. The development could advance ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions. The talks would involve senior officials from both countries and impact regional stability.

According to a report by CNN, citing Iranian sources, preparations are underway for the next round of negotiations. However, the United States has not officially confirmed the schedule or location of the meeting. The report suggests Pakistan is being considered as the host for continued dialogue.

Earlier, the first round of talks between the United States and Iran was held in Islamabad. The US delegation was led by JD Vance and included Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. The Iranian delegation was headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, with Abbas Araghchi also present.

Following the initial meeting, both sides reportedly reached preliminary understandings on certain issues. They also agreed to continue engagement through further negotiations. Analysts believe continued dialogue could help reduce tensions and pave the way for a broader agreement.
