Khawaja Asif says Marka-e-Haq message strengthens Pakistan’s defence posture

Published on: May 6, 2026 4:15 PM

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the outcome of Marka-e-Haq has delivered a “clear and strong message” regarding Pakistan’s defence capability and national unity, stating that any future aggression would be met with a stronger and more coordinated response.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the minister said the developments linked to Marka-e-Haq represent more than a symbolic victory, describing it as a defining moment that reinforces Pakistan’s strategic resolve. He said the event has “drawn a permanent line” in terms of regional deterrence and clarified that adventurism from any side would not be tolerated.

Khawaja Asif emphasised that Pakistan’s armed forces across land, air, and sea are fully capable of responding swiftly and in a coordinated manner. He said the level of operational readiness demonstrated by the military reflects both professionalism and preparedness, which he claimed exceeds the expectations of adversaries.

He further stated that national unity remains the strongest pillar of Pakistan’s defence framework. According to him, the armed forces and the public are aligned in their commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, forming what he described as a “unified national front”.

The defence minister also highlighted the role of the country’s youth, calling them a critical source of strength. He said young Pakistanis are increasingly aware of national security challenges and are prepared to contribute to the country’s stability and defence in multiple capacities.

His remarks come amid continued political and security discussions in the region, where officials have repeatedly underscored preparedness and deterrence as key elements of national policy. The statement also reflects ongoing efforts by state leaders to reinforce narratives of unity and resilience in the face of external pressures. No immediate response was issued from Indian officials regarding the statement.
