Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni face Hollywood reputation crisis

Published on: May 10, 2026 5:06 PM

Hollywood figures Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have reportedly avoided a courtroom battle after settling a high-profile legal dispute linked to the film It Ends With Us. However, industry insiders say the settlement has not resolved their broader reputation challenges within Hollywood. Moreover, attention has now shifted from legal proceedings to long-term career recovery.

The controversy surrounding the 2024 box office success escalated far beyond a typical production dispute, involving allegations of harassment, countersuits, and intense media scrutiny. The situation turned the film’s commercial success into a major public relations crisis for both stars. Consequently, executives say the damage has affected professional trust across the entertainment industry.

Studio insiders claim both Lively and Baldoni now face informal industry hesitation, with some describing the situation as a “reputation freeze” in Hollywood circles. One executive noted that collaboration opportunities may remain limited until public perception improves. Therefore, both actors are reportedly focusing on rebuilding credibility and professional relationships.

Reports suggest that Lively may have a slightly easier path to recovery due to her established career and audience appeal, although insiders believe her earning potential may have significantly declined. Some industry voices estimate that her market value has dropped compared to previous expectations following the film’s success. In addition, suggestions have emerged that she may need to take unconventional roles to reshape her image.

For Baldoni, however, industry analysts describe a more difficult recovery process due to allegations related to workplace environment concerns. Some executives believe he may struggle to secure major studio-backed projects in the near future. As a result, he could shift focus toward television work or independent productions under his own banner.

Meanwhile, actor Ryan Reynolds has also been mentioned by insiders as indirectly affected by the controversy, though not part of the core dispute. Industry commentary suggests that all involved may need time and strategic project choices to rebuild public and professional standing. Therefore, Hollywood observers say reputational recovery may take longer than the legal resolution itself.
