Over 61,000 Pakistani pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia; 1,288 staff members deployed

Published on: May 12, 2026 1:50 AM

As the soul-stirring echoes of “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik” resonate through the holy lands, the arrival of the guests of Allah has reached its peak. Over the past 24 hours, an additional 4,875 pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia, bringing the total number of Pakistani pilgrims currently in the Kingdom to 61,147.

This figure represents 51% of the total government Hajj quota. To ensure the welfare and seamless care of the pilgrims, 1,288 staff members have already reached the holy lands and assumed their duties.

This dedicated team includes 792 welfare assistants (Moavineen) to guide the pilgrims and a medical mission comprising 294 doctors and paramedical staff to provide top-tier healthcare services.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the number of Pakistani pilgrims currently in Makkah has risen from 49,495 to 56,408.

This increase reflects the rapid transit of pilgrims to Makkah after completing their stay and prayers in Madinah Munawwarah. To date, 103 flights have landed at Jeddah airport, carrying a total of 25,931 pilgrims , while 141 flights have been operated to Madinah Munawwarah.

The personnel of the Pakistan Hajj Mission remain vigilant in both Makkah and Madinah to serve the guests of Allah. This includes 202 technical staff members from the IT and Media cells who are now fully operational in the holy lands. Station-wise deployment data shows that Makkah Mukarramah currently hosts the largest contingent, with 766 welfare assistants and 148 technical staff members actively serving the pilgrims.

In light of the growing number of arrivals, medical facilities have been placed on high alert to ensure that the Guests of Ar-Rahman receive every possible convenience during their sacred journey and the performance of Hajj rituals.
