The prime minister urged all parties involved in regional tensions to exercise maximum restraint and to comply with their obligations under international law. He stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path toward long-term peace, stability and de-escalation in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a separate statement strongly denouncing the attack. The spokesperson said that deliberately targeting a nuclear power facility constitutes a clear violation of international legal frameworks, including rules governing nuclear safety and protection of civilian infrastructure.

According to the Foreign Office, civilian nuclear installations must never be targeted under any circumstances as such actions can have catastrophic consequences for human life, the environment and regional security. The statement warned that any escalation involving sensitive energy infrastructure could further destabilize an already tense regional situation.

The Barakah Nuclear Power Plant is one of the most significant energy projects in the Gulf region and plays a key role in the UAE’s civilian energy production. Any threat to its safety has raised international concern due to potential risks associated with nuclear facilities.
