At least 12 people were injured after an exchange of gunfire broke out near a community festival in Toledo, Ohio, where two shooters reportedly fired at each other during a crowded public event. Police confirmed that two victims remain in critical condition as investigations continue.

Authorities said the victims ranged in age from 14 to 61, highlighting the wide impact of the incident on festival attendees. Emergency responders quickly transported the wounded to nearby hospitals while securing the area and dispersing crowds for safety.

Furthermore, police stated that the shooting involved two individuals exchanging fire, and they believe both suspects fled the scene. Officials described the situation as an active investigation, with multiple leads being pursued and evidence currently under review.

Investigators are now collecting witness statements and reviewing available camera footage from the Old West End Festival area. In addition, authorities have appealed to the public for any cell phone videos that could help identify and locate the suspects involved in the shooting.

Meanwhile, police officials emphasized that several hundred people were present at the festival when the gunfire erupted around 5:37 pm. Community leaders expressed concern over the disruption of one of Toledo’s most well-known cultural events and its impact on public safety.

Overall, law enforcement agencies continue their search for suspects while urging cooperation from the public. At the same time, officials noted that the incident adds to broader concerns over gun violence trends reported across the United States this year.
