UAE deports 3,500 Pakistanis over posts

Published on: June 11, 2026 11:13 PM

The National Assembly was informed that around 3,500 Pakistanis were deported from the United Arab Emirates over social media law violations. The development matters because it highlights growing scrutiny of online activity abroad. Overseas Pakistanis, families in Pakistan, and diplomatic channels are directly affected by the issue.

Officials told lawmakers that the deportations were linked to breaches of UAE regulations during the Iran-US conflict period. They said individuals violated laws governing online content and digital communication. Authorities stressed that foreign countries enforce strict rules on social media usage. The matter was presented during a parliamentary briefing.

The government said assets and properties of the deported individuals are being transferred to legal heirs. Officials added that procedures are being followed under relevant legal frameworks. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured support to affected families. It said assistance will be provided for documentation and property-related issues.

Authorities also urged Pakistani citizens living abroad to comply with local laws. They emphasized that online behaviour can have serious legal consequences in host countries. Officials warned that violations of social media regulations may lead to deportation or legal action. The advisory comes amid increased monitoring of digital platforms globally.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office said it remains in contact with relevant authorities in the UAE. It is working to facilitate affected families where possible. Further updates are expected as cases are processed. Officials reiterated the importance of responsible online conduct abroad.
