Indian Sikh pilgrims visit Nankana Sahib

Published on: June 12, 2026 8:09 AM

Indian Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan to participate in the martyrdom anniversary (Jor Mela) observance of the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, offered religious rituals at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib on the second day of their pilgrimage. During their stay in Nankana Sahib, the pilgrims also visited Gurdwara Patti Sahib, Gurdwara Bal Lila Sahib, Gurdwara Kiara Sahib and Gurdwara Tambu Sahib, where they performed religious ceremonies and paid homage. The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, made comprehensive arrangements for the pilgrims, including accommodation, langar (community meals), sanitation, medical facilities and other essential services. The district administration of Nankana Sahib and law enforcement agencies also ensured strict security measures for the visitors. Speaking on the occasion, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee leader Sardar Bhupinder Singh expressed satisfaction over the arrangements, hospitality and facilities provided in Pakistan. He thanked ETPB Chairman Qamar-ul-Zaman, Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq and the government of Pakistan for their efforts. Special security arrangements were put in place along the pilgrims’ travel routes, while ambulances of the ETPB and Rescue 1122 accompanied the caravans.
