Govt allocates Rs 4,183 million in PSDP for agri sector development

The government has allocated Rs 4,183 million in its Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2026-27 for different uplift projects of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research. The amount has been allocated for 09 ongoing and one new development scheme, according the budgetary document PSDP released here on Friday. The government has allocated Rs 450 million for the promotion of cultivation on a commercial scale in Pakistan phase-II and Rs 800 million for the national program for animal diseases surveillance and control track and traceability compliance with national and international standards. In PSDP for the fiscal year 2016-27, the government has allocated Rs 100 million for the establishment of seed certification laboratory Khuzdar and Turbet and Rs 100 million for the enhancement of the national program for enhancing command area in barani areas of Pakistan. Meanwhile, the government has also earmarked an amount of Rs 375 million for the national oil seeds enhancement program in order to promote oil seeds cultivation to reduce reliance on imported edible oil. An amount of Rs 150 million has been allocated for the Pak-Korea joint program on certified seed potato production system and Rs 100 million for the professional capacity building in agriculture national reforms program. In PSDP 2026-27, the government has also allocated Rs 1.983 million for 01 new scheme as National food security and productivity enhancement program .
