Decision made to increase free MDCAT coaching centres

The education authorities has decided to further expand the program of providing free MD CAT preparation facilities to students in government colleges. In view of the increasing number of students, it has been recommended to establish six new preparation centers in Punjab.

Under the proposed project, additional centers will be established in major divisional headquarters, so that maximum students can benefit from this facility. DPI Colleges have sent a formal proposal to the Higher Education Department for the establishment of new centers.

According to officials, MD CAT preparation facilities were provided in 54 centers across Punjab last year, while the cost of arranging one center is estimated at about Rs 100,000.A regular schedule will be issued after the final approval of the Higher Education Department.

According to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the MDCAT exam will be held on August 16, 2026.

The MDCAT exam will be conducted across the country on Sunday, August 16 at 10 am. Online registration for MDCAT will start from June 22, 2026.

Candidates will be able to register by July 8, 2026 with a fee of Rs 9,000. After the scheduled date, the facility of late registration will be available till July 13, 2026.

The late registration fee has been fixed at Rs 13,000. PMDC has directed students to complete their registration on time. PMDC said that students seeking admission in medical and dental colleges should focus on preparing for the exam.”
