Pakistan and Bahrain have agreed to strengthen cooperation in technology and investment, as the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) continues to support efforts to attract foreign investment and expand bilateral economic partnerships.

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja met Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, in Geneva to discuss ways to deepen cooperation in key economic and technology sectors.

During the meeting, Pakistan invited Bahrain to invest in information technology, food security, tourism and other priority sectors.

The federal minister also briefed her Bahraini counterpart on investment opportunities available in Pakistan and highlighted the facilitative role of the SIFC in supporting foreign investors.

The two ministers held detailed discussions on expanding cooperation in information technology, telecommunications, digital technology and digital connectivity.

They also agreed to strengthen collaboration through innovation, skills exchange and joint initiatives aimed at advancing the technology sector.

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to broadening bilateral cooperation in technology and telecommunications, expressing confidence that closer collaboration would create new opportunities for investment, technological progress and economic growth. The meeting underscored the role of the SIFC in paving the way for increased investment, technology partnerships and stronger economic cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.
