Pakistani bikers reach Arctic Circle in historic road expedition

Published on: July 19, 2026 5:08 PM

A group of four Pakistani motorcyclists has completed a remarkable journey from Pakistan to the Arctic Circle, becoming the first riders to achieve the feat on Pakistan-registered motorcycles. Led by adventurer Shiraz Sami, the team travelled thousands of kilometres across several countries before reaching Nordkapp in Norway, widely recognised as the northernmost point on mainland Europe accessible by road.

The expedition included Sami, his 19-year-old son and two fellow riders, who crossed deserts, mountains, international borders and some of the world’s most demanding road routes. Their successful journey highlighted months of planning, endurance and determination while showcasing the capabilities of long-distance motorcycle travel from Pakistan to one of Europe’s most remote destinations.

Sharing the achievement on social media, Sami said the expedition represented much more than reaching a destination. He stated that the journey reflected courage, faith and perseverance, adding that every obstacle along the route strengthened the team’s belief that determination can overcome even the toughest challenges.

Sami also described the accomplishment as a proud moment for Pakistan, saying the riders carried the national flag “to the top of the world” through dedication and teamwork. Furthermore, he expressed hope that the expedition would inspire more young Pakistanis to pursue adventure travel and challenge their own limits.

In a separate message, Sami thanked Pakistani adventure traveller and content creator Abrar Hassan for highlighting the expedition on social media and helping share the achievement with a wider audience. The successful ride has since received praise from travel enthusiasts, who have celebrated the team’s historic accomplishment and contribution to Pakistan’s adventure tourism community.
