Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha has expressed support for climate activist Sonam Wangchuk after police removed him from his hunger strike site and shifted him to hospital following concerns about his health. She also urged people participating in a planned protest march to remain peaceful, united, and respectful while raising their voices.
In a video message shared on social media ahead of the July 20 demonstration, Sonakshi encouraged supporters to maintain the peaceful nature of the movement. She said every citizen has the right to question authorities and stressed that non-violent protests often carry greater strength and leave a more meaningful impact.

The actor praised the determination shown by Wangchuk’s supporters, saying true courage comes from patience, peace, and standing firmly for a cause without spreading hatred. She added that she stands with the youth, students, the Constitution, and the country while expressing hope that meaningful discussions would begin and every voice would receive the respect it deserves.
Meanwhile, Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital on the 21st day of his indefinite hunger strike after medical experts advised immediate treatment because of his deteriorating health. He has been protesting at Jantar Mantar, demanding stronger climate protection measures, greater environmental safeguards, and better protection for the Himalayan region.

Police said the decision to transfer Wangchuk to hospital followed medical recommendations and court directions aimed at protecting his health. However, his supporters have continued to call for constructive dialogue with the authorities, hoping that discussions will address the concerns raised during his prolonged climate campaign.
