
Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed slightly higher on Monday as late-session buying helped the benchmark index recover from early losses. The KSE-100 Index gained 124.95 points, ending at 175,927.74 despite continued geopolitical concerns.
The market faced heavy selling pressure at the opening due to rising tensions between the United States and Iran. The benchmark index fell more than 2,000 points during early trading before recovering gradually.

The KSE-100 reached an intraday low of 173,636.46 points and later climbed to 176,129.35 points. The sharp movement reflected investor concerns over regional developments and market uncertainty.
Meanwhile, traders said selective buying supported the recovery as investors targeted specific stocks at lower levels. Market participants maintained a cautious approach while monitoring international developments and their possible economic impact.
Equity trader Ahmed Sheraz of KTrade Securities said the market reacted strongly to recent US-Iran tensions. He added that the recovery showed resilience despite uncertainty surrounding regional security developments.

Trading activity remained strong during the session, with total volume reaching 675.9 million shares compared with 621 million shares on Friday. The value of traded shares stood at Rs30.2 billion, with 165 companies closing higher.
Cnergyico PK remained the volume leader, with 166 million shares traded during the session. Analysts said future market performance would depend on geopolitical developments and upcoming corporate earnings results.
