Maryam Aurangzeb responds to Bilawal with videos

Published on: July 23, 2026 10:35 AM

بلاول کے پنجاب کے شہروں کی صورتحال پر سوالات، مریم اورنگزیب نے ویڈیو جاری کرکے جواب دیدیا

Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has responded to criticism by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding the condition of several cities in Punjab by sharing videos highlighting infrastructure and cleanliness in the province.

The exchange followed Bilawal Bhutto’s remarks during an election rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where he questioned the state of cities across Punjab beyond Lahore. He raised concerns about urban conditions and public services in various districts, prompting a response from the Punjab government.

In reply, Maryam Aurangzeb released a series of videos on social media showing roads, streets and sanitation work in the same cities mentioned by Bilawal. She said the footage reflected the current condition of urban infrastructure and municipal services, countering the claims made during the political gathering.

The videos included scenes from Vehari and Kasur, where Bilawal had questioned the state of development and civic management. According to the provincial minister, the visuals demonstrate that cleanliness campaigns and road improvement projects are continuing across multiple districts under the Punjab government’s supervision.

Maryam Aurangzeb maintained that the Punjab government remains committed to improving public services and municipal infrastructure in cities across the province. She said development work is being carried out in both major urban centres and smaller districts to enhance civic facilities for residents.

The exchange comes as political parties intensify campaigning ahead of upcoming elections, with governance, development and public service delivery emerging as key issues in political discourse. Leaders from both the ruling coalition and opposition have increasingly used public rallies and social media platforms to challenge each other’s performance.

Neither Bilawal Bhutto nor the Pakistan Peoples Party had immediately responded to Maryam Aurangzeb’s latest videos. The discussion has nevertheless attracted attention online, with supporters of both parties sharing competing narratives over the condition of Punjab’s cities.

The debate reflects the growing role of digital platforms in political communication, where visual content is increasingly used by parties to support their claims and respond to criticism.
