Nawaz Sharif to launch ‘restoration of justice’ movement

Published on: December 19, 2017 4:03 PM

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister (PM) NAwaz Sharif has on Tuesday announced to run a campaign for the restoration of justice. The president of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) said that upon analysing the judgments in his case and Imran Khan’s case, one would realise that the courts had double standards.

Talking to media, Nawaz said that he was ousted despite being a sitting PM of the country over an income he didn’t even receive, declaring it as his asset while in Imran Khan’s case, there was admittance of transactions and yet the apex court gave him the clean chit.

Meanwhile, Nawaz also appeared before the court today along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar where a statement by the prosecution witness Yasir Bashir was recorded in the Azizia Steel Mills case.

Another witness, Shakil Anjum Nagra, also recorded his statement in the Avenfield apartments reference.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nawaz Sharif is nominated suspect in references regarding Avenfield properties, Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment, while Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (r) Safdar are nominated in reference regarding Avenfield properties alone.
