Pakistan all ready to give NZ tough time, says Sarfraz

Published on: December 26, 2017 7:48 PM

LAHORE: Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has said that his team is looking forward to giving the New Zealand (NZ) side a tough time in its upcoming tour to NZ starting from January 6.

Addressing the media in Qaddafi Stadium Lahore on Tuesday, the skipper said: “Despite facing injuries, Pakistan would put up a good fight in the limited-over series against the Kiwis”.

He showed full confidence in his bowling line-up saying the team combination is good because of a strong bowling lineup.

Commenting on the exclusion of fast bowlers Junaid Khan and Usman Shinwari due to injuries, Sarfraz said the team would miss them in the tour, adding that they have done a good job in the past series.

In answer to a question regarding the team’s strategy for batting lineup, the skipper said: “There are no special instructions. We just want them to play their natural game since all of them are very good players.”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi has also expressed full faith in the team saying tough competition is expected in New Zealand but“I have complete faith in our team”.

“Pakistan team has the ability to perform well,” said the PCB chairman.

Pakistan tour to New Zealand will compromise five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20I).
