Balochistan approves major salary boost for anti-terror forces

Published on: June 10, 2026 5:47 PM

The Balochistan government has approved a 100% salary increase for personnel serving in the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF), aiming to strengthen the province’s counterterrorism capabilities. The decision reflects efforts to support frontline officers who perform critical duties in maintaining security and combating militant threats across the region.

An official notification issued by the Balochistan Finance Secretary confirmed that the pay raise will take effect from July 1, 2026. The increase will apply exclusively to current serving employees of all ranks within the CTD and ATF. Authorities believe the measure will improve morale and provide greater financial support to personnel working in high-risk assignments.

According to the notification, the salary enhancement will not affect the existing structure of allowances, pension payments, or gratuity benefits. These components will continue to be calculated on the basis of the current basic salary. As a result, the revised package focuses solely on increasing monthly earnings for serving officers and staff members.

Furthermore, the Balochistan Accountant General has been instructed to incorporate the approved increase into salaries beginning in July 2026. Relevant departments have also received directives to ensure immediate implementation of the decision. Officials have been tasked with completing all administrative procedures to facilitate a smooth rollout of the revised pay structure.

The provincial government described the move as part of broader efforts to reinforce the operational strength of law enforcement agencies engaged in counterterrorism activities. Authorities believe enhanced financial incentives can help improve performance, retention, and readiness among officers working on the front lines of security operations.

Officials also expressed confidence that the decision will strengthen the effectiveness of CTD and ATF personnel in tackling evolving security challenges. By providing substantial financial relief to serving officers, the government aims to boost motivation and support the continued development of specialized anti-terrorism capabilities throughout Balochistan.
