‘Cake’ hits 3 crore mark

Pakistan’s most anticipated release of the season, Cake, has been making an impression on everyone ever since it released less than a week ago.

The movie is running successfully to jam-packed cinemas in cities like Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi with sold-out shows for straight three days.

Cake not only made astonishing business of 3 crores from Pakistan but it selected international territories as well, which is extraordinary for a moderately financed film. The movie received frenzied reviews from viewers on social media as well as by local and international media.

The film has reported to receive appreciation for the performing arts, film making, direction, art direction, cinematography, sound plan and screenplay. The extremely talented cast of Sanam Saeed, Adnan Malik and Aamina Sheikh, is being loved by the audience.

Director of ‘Cake’ Asim Abbasi stated,“We are overwhelmed by all the love and praises. This is exactly where we wanted to be. We have audience members who are deeply touched by our narrative, and we have given Pakistani Cinema what we set out to give it diversity. And we are hopeful that the word-of-mouth will continue to carry Cake through both at the domestic and international box office in the coming weeks.”

Zulfiqar Bukhari, the producer said, “The response to Cake proves that Pakistan is ready for intelligent narratives that are executed to international standards. We wanted to showcase the power of authentic storytelling and bring fresh, new voices in cinema to the forefront and we have achieved that.”
