Asrar and Abida Parveen joining forces once again?

Published on: April 10, 2018 7:47 PM

KARACHI: Pakistani music has had its fair share of highs and lows with legends such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and pop singers like Atif Aslam having managed to set their mark in the local industry.

Just recently, musician Asrar Shah was spotted jamming with music maestro Abida Parveen, and the question on our minds is: Are the two set to collaborate once again?

In a video shared by Asrar himself, he mentions that there is something big coming out for us soon. And we just couldn’t contain our excitement. Considering the abundant talent that the two sensations possess, whatever is cooking between the two will surely be mesmerising.

Asrar and Abida previously lent their voice for a track that was featured in Pakistani film, Rangreza. The song that went with the title of Phool Khil Jayien garnered over one million views on YouTube.

The 32-year-old musician also gave his vocals to Ho Mann Jahaan’s Shakar Wandan Re which became a nationwide anthem at local weddings. The song was also a part of Coke Studio season seven earlier.

Abida, being an ace performer for over two decades is one of the most refined musicians that the world has seen. The 63-year-old singer is trained in Sufi music and has several accolades to her name, such as 1984’s Pride of Pakistan and 2005’s Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

Much like the former, Abida has also sung for films such as Mahira Khan’s Bin Roye.

Earlier, Asrar shared a picture on his Instagram which we think might be of his upcoming album or song Soul Speaks. His photo also mentioned that it was releasing in this month of April.

With the aforementioned, we can definitely not wait to find out what Asrar and Abida have in store for us.
