LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced early summer vacations for government and private schools across the province.
Schools will remain closed from May 17 to August 9, Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood said.
The decision of announcing early vacations was made in view of the holy month of Ramadan, which is likely to begin from May 17.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee will conduct a meeting on May 16 to discuss the sighting of the moon.
The Sindh government has also announced early vacations due to blistering heat and the start of the holy month. Schools in the province will remain closed from May 14 to July 16.
