ISLAMABAD: Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) issued a report on Friday saying that elections 2018 were peaceful, transparent and comparatively better than polls in 2013.
According to a FAFEN report presented by chairman Sarwar Bari, 49.48 million people voted during elections 2018, while the overall voter turnout was 50.3 percent. Among the total number of voters, 58.3 percent were male, while 46 percent were females.
As far as the provincial voter turnout is concerned, Punjab led with 59 percent, while in Sindh the turnout was 47.7 percent, in Balochistan it was 39.6 percent, while in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, voter turnout was 43.6 percent. Voter turnout in Islamabad was 59 percent.
It was further said that form 45 was provided in majority of the polling stations, while issues were recorded in polling stations. It was added that the polls were peaceful and transparent.
“Long queues of people outside the polling stations prove that the public of Pakistan is starting to trust election proceedings more,” FAFEN noted.
