Will the foreign ministry invite Jemima Khan to Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony?

Published on: July 30, 2018 6:06 PM

While Imran Khan is inching closer to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan, talented actor Gohar Rasheed has stepped in with a unique request.

The “Man mayal” actor took his Twitter account and requested the foreign ministry for Khan’s ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith to be invited to the oath-taking ceremony of the newly designated Prime Minister.

He tweeted, “It is my humble request to the foreign ministry to please invite Ms JemimaKhan as an honourable guest in the oath-taking ceremony of the new prime minister of Pakistan,” adding, “We all owe her a special thanks due to many reasons and this would be the best tribute to a sincere friend.”

The public also agreed with Gohar and thought that it was a great idea. However, several others thought that inviting Jemima might not be appropriate as he is now married to Bushra Bibi.

Jemima has always seen being supportive of her ex-husband Imran Khan’s 22 years of political journey. She had sent heartfelt greetings towards Imran Khan upon his victory in the general elections.

22 years later, after humiliations, hurdles and sacrifices, my sons’ father is Pakistan’s next PM. It’s an incredible lesson in tenacity, belief & refusal to accept defeat. The challenge now is to remember why he entered politics in the 1st place. Congratulations @ImranKhanPTI
