Agha Siraj’s arrest an undemocratic attempt to dislodge Sindh govt: Bilawal Bhutto

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday condemned the arrest of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and termed the act as an unacceptable and undemocratic attempt to dislodge the Sindh government.

Taking to the famous micro-blogging website Twitter Bilawal said “Hum Baynami wazeer-e-azam ko baywardi Aamriat Qaaim nahi karnay daingay. Attack on Speaker of federating unit is unacceptable, undemocratic attempt to dislodge Sindh govt Failed before will fail again. Independent institutions shouldn’t unwittingly be part of political engineering.”

Earlier today National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Agha Siraj Durrani in assets beyond meaning, embezzlement of funds and illegal appointments cases.

In a press release the NAB confirmed the arrest of speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani. He will face an inquiry for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income and misuse of public funding.
