No meeting on the cards with Shehbaz Sharif in London: Pervaiz Elahi

Published on: May 5, 2019 1:13 AM

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Saturday rubbished reports of a possible meeting between him and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz president and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shebaz Sharif. Speaking to the media after arriving in London on a 10-day visit, Elahi said, “A meeting with Shehbaz Sharif is out of the question.” Shehbaz is currently in London where he is said to be receiving medical treatment. “The entire country is suffering because of what the Sharif brothers have done to the country,” he said. Elahi further said, “Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is doing well and he has everyone’s support. Buzdar is a strong chief minister. All rumours regarding him will die down.” Responding to a question about the Local Government Bill, Elahi said the signing of the bill means that we do not have any issue with it, however, more improvements can be brought in it. Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi arrived in London on Friday night.
