Shahid Afridi ‘ruined’ careers for his own cause: Imran Farhat

Published on: May 8, 2019 4:12 AM

Former all-rounder Shahid Afridi’s book ‘Game Changer’ continues to be in the headlines as left-hand opener Imran Farhat has rejected Afridi’s claims in the book and has blamed the all-rounder for ruining other people’s career for his own selfish cause. Farhat took to Twitter to express his outrage over Afridi’s book and claimed that the all-rounder was responsible for creating problems for everyone in the team, which was why then Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt wanted to drop him from the team. Farhat further added that Afridi used to blackmail the PCB with matters relating to sponsorship. The 36-year-old also took a dig at Afridi’s age fudging and used it to support his argument regarding the all-rounder’s dishonesty. Farhat finally urged other cricketers, named in the book, to come forward and expose the all-rounder’s alleged selfish behaviour throughout his career. Farhat is the second cricketer to reject Afridi’s claims in the book, after former cricketer Javed Miandad also dismissed all-rounder’s allegations against him.
