PSL 10 showdown: Multan Sultans win toss, choose to bat first against Quetta Gladiators

Published on: May 18, 2025 4:05 PM

Multan Sultans won the toss and opted to bat first against Quetta Gladiators in the 28th match of HBL PSL 10, being played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday. With a stronger head-to-head record, Multan enters the game holding a psychological edge, having won nine of their previous 14 encounters with Quetta.

The Pakistan Super League made a thrilling return to Rawalpindi on Friday with a high-scoring clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The Kings secured a 23-run win after posting a massive 237-run total, thrilling fans and reigniting playoff excitement.

Previously, the tournament had been briefly suspended following a drone attack near the Rawalpindi Stadium. Organizers initially considered moving remaining matches to the UAE. However, after tensions eased between Pakistan and India, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to bring the league back to its home grounds.

In a show of national pride, the PCB officially dedicated the rest of PSL 10 to Pakistan’s Armed Forces. Friday’s fixtures honored the Pakistan Army, Saturday was dedicated to the Navy, and Monday will celebrate the Pakistan Air Force’s contributions.

Multan Sultans’ lineup features Mohammad Rizwan as captain and wicketkeeper, alongside promising talents like Jahanzeib Sultan, Tayyab Tahir, and Dilshan Madushanka. Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators are led by Saud Shakeel and include key players such as Avishka Fernando, Faheem Ashraf, and Dinesh Chandimal.

With playoff spots on the line and national pride in the air, Sunday’s clash promises to deliver intense competition and passionate performances from both sides.
