Karachi braces for rain and thunderstorms over the next two days

Published on: June 16, 2025 1:31 PM

Karachi is expected to receive rain with thunder and wind today and tomorrow. The Meteorological Department shared this update on Monday. The weather in the city remains hot and humid. Today, the temperature may rise up to 39 degrees Celsius.

According to the department’s spokesperson, Anjum Nazir, thunderclouds may form by 3 or 4 PM today. These clouds may bring light to moderate rain in many parts of the city. Strong winds and thunder are also likely during this time. The public should stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.

Moreover, the weather may remain unstable tomorrow as well. Surrounding areas of Karachi could also receive rainfall. The rain may not be heavy but could affect roads and traffic. Therefore, citizens are advised to take care while going out.

The department says the rain will bring some relief from the heat. However, humidity levels may remain high. Power outages and traffic delays are possible during the rain and storm. So, residents should plan their day carefully.

Karachi is likely to face unstable weather over the next two days. Thunder, wind, and light rain are expected in different areas. The government may issue further warnings, so people should follow weather updates regularly.
