Azma Bokhari claims Imran Khan sidelined within PTI amid party factions

Published on: June 25, 2025 2:14 PM

LAHORE  Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said that PTI founder Imran Khan has been sidelined by his own sister and party members. She described this as “divine justice,” adding that the leader who once aimed to eliminate Nawaz Sharif is now being pushed out himself.

Azma accused Aleema Khan of plotting against Ali Amin Gandapur, a claim that Ali Amin openly confirmed. She explained that Ali Amin managed to get the budget passed in his role as Punjab’s chief executive, preventing his removal despite the ongoing conspiracies by Aleema Khan’s group and PTI’s social media team.

She revealed that PTI is divided into three main factions at the federal level, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) hosts three separate groups. In KP, these factions are led by Junaid Akbar, Atif Khan, and a group of dissidents, which she blamed for misgovernance over the last 12 years.

Azma criticized the state of affairs in KP, saying the province has suffered under “incompetent and corrupt” leadership. Meanwhile, she praised Punjab’s government for its focus on merit, good governance, and transparency.

Further, the minister highlighted Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, stating she ranks number one among all chief ministers in terms of performance. She suggested Punjab serves as a role model for other provinces to follow.

Azma’s comments underscore ongoing tensions within PTI, reflecting deep divisions and challenges facing the party ahead of upcoming political battles.
