Govt vows action after illegal deer hunting in Margalla hills

Published on: July 11, 2025 3:01 PM

The Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik has taken serious notice of the recent incident of illegal hunting of a deer in the Margalla Hills National Park.

An inquiry into the incident is already underway. A First Information Report (FIR) has been duly registered, and the investigation is progressing in accordance with the law.

The accused individuals have sought bail before arrest, which is their constitutional right. However, the Ministry and the Honourable Federal Minister remain fully committed to ensuring that a transparent and impartial investigation is carried out, and that all those found responsible for violating the law and harming wildlife are held accountable under the relevant legal provisions.

The Ministry reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the protection of wildlife, preventing cruelty against animals, and strictly enforcing conservation laws in all protected areas.
