Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that Tehran is fully prepared to respond to any new military attacks. He stressed that Iran can deliver an even stronger blow than it did during the recent 12-day war with Israel.
Khamenei, speaking on state television, praised Iran’s stance against the United States and Israel, calling them enemies of the nation. He confirmed Iran’s missile strike on the US Al Udeid base in Qatar, calling it a hit on a “highly sensitive” American site.
Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Iran to return to nuclear talks. The US and key European nations have set the end of August as a deadline to finalize a deal, threatening the return of UN sanctions if progress stalls.
However, Iran’s parliament rejected the idea of restarting negotiations without meeting certain conditions. Lawmakers said talks are impossible while the US uses diplomacy to “deceive” and cover military attacks by Israel.
Although the preconditions weren’t detailed, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has previously demanded firm guarantees against further attacks. He also ruled out discussions on Iran’s missile program or halting domestic uranium enrichment.
Khamenei reaffirmed Iran’s strength in both diplomacy and defense, urging Iranian diplomats to follow state guidelines closely. He emphasized that Iran would not negotiate from weakness but with “hands full” and confidence in its position.
